    Job Description

    The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of production and maintenance activities. This includes coordinating efforts related to production, quality management systems, and safety to ensure a smooth operation.

    Duties

    • Process Management: Oversee and manage the entire production and maintenance processes, coordinating all activities involved in the production line.
    • Manufacturing Efficiency: Ensure manufacturing processes run smoothly and cost-effectively, delivering quality products on time, with the right quantities, at the right cost structure.
    • Business Operations: Efficiently plan and control business operations, including estimating, negotiating, and agreeing budgets and timescales with clients and managers.
    • Work Planning: Establish proper work-plans and workflows to meet required deadlines.
    • Inventory Management: Ensure appropriate inventory levels, high machine availability supported by timely maintenance, and maintain higher employee performance underscored by strict discipline.
    • Rework Reduction: Minimize rework and rejects through proper supervision of the production process and coaching/mentorship of operators.
    • Employee Performance: Manage the performance of employees and motivate them for optimal performance.

    Requirements

    • Education: Relevant degree or diploma in business management, production management, or relevant experience.
    • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in a similar role.

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Steel Specifications: Knowledge of steel specifications with management experience.
    • Customer Service: Customer service orientated.
    • Organisational Skills: Good organisational skills, reliable, and good verbal as well as written communication skills.
    • Driver's License: Valid driver's license and own transport.

    Additional Skills

    • Computer Literacy: Computer literate - MS Office - Excel, Word, Outlook.
    • Communication Skills: Intermediate written, verbal, and presentation skills.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Organising Skills: Organizing and multi-tasking skills.
    • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail.
