    Description
    • At least 3 years' experience in a supervisory capacity in a maintenance environment
    • Experience in 2 or more of the following areas advantageous:
      • Electrical & Refrigeration
      • Carpentry
      • Plumbing
      • Airconditioning repair
      • Heat Pump knowledge
    • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles
    • Knowledge of safe working procedures of electrical tools and equipment
    • Able to communicate with others accurately and timely to ensure speed and quality of service
    • Excellent written and verbal skills.
    • Well presented, neat and able to interact with guest.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to think and work independently

    REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:

    • Grade 12- Matric Certificate
    • Tertiary qualification in Vehicle mechanics or related field beneficial
    • Electrical qualification or experience would be advantageous
    • Valid Driver's license
    • Local Franschhoek candidates would be advantageous

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Co-ordinate the work of a team of Handymen to ensure that the facilities and equipment in and around all the properties are well maintained and in good working order.
    • Responding to vehicle maintenance requests in the minimum possible time, or, within the timeframes set by the requesting department.
    • Implement the preventative maintenance practices and schedules to ensure legislated and warrantee compliance.
    • Manages the service schedules for all equipment, ensuring that service times are adhered to and service logs are maintained.
    • Attend and participate in all training, including in safety, service, product knowledge, customer care and cultural awareness
    • Follow all departmental and hotel, health, safety and security policies, processes, procedures and standards
    • Liaising with suppliers and obtaining replacement or specialist components, fixtures or fittings.
    • Managing stocks of equipment, consumables and other supplies.
    • Daily reporting to the Facilities Manager
