- Legal Advisory & Case Management Provide strategic legal advice to clients manage matters end-to-end ensure timely progression resolution Develop implement tailored legal strategies aligned client objectives Draft review finalise all litigation advisory documents including pleadings notices affidavits interlocutory applications heads argument practice notes contracts agreements settlement agreements formal legal opinions advisory memoranda Ensure drafting technically sound compliant strategically aligned Supervise quality-check drafting completed junior staff required Conduct advanced research support litigation advisory work Analyse legislation case law developments impacting clients Provide commercially sound risk-based advice clients internal stakeholders Build maintain long-term client relationships Act primary point contact assigned matters Lead consultations strategy sessions feedback meetings Support business development client retention new instructions Appear independently High Court Labour Court Prepare argue motions trials appeals applications Represent clients arbitrations mediations disciplinary proceedings Liaise counsel experts third-party stakeholders required Maintain oversight multiple active matters simultaneously Ensure strict compliance court rules deadlines client requirements Implement best-practice file management reporting standards Capture billable time daily Legal Suite Collaborate Finance invoice review finalisation Ensure timely submission monthly billing records travel claims Mentor guide junior associates candidate attorneys paralegals Provide technical guidance drafting research litigation strategy Participate performance discussions KPA reviews development planning Assist HR senior management discipline performance interventions Deliver internal training sessions knowledge-sharing initiatives Contribute firm-wide strategy process improvement capacity building Leverage systems tools improve efficiency scalability Represent firm industry events networking sessions client engagements Uphold firms professional standards ethics reputation Core Practice Areas / Required Experience General civil litigation motion action proceedings Labour employment law Initiating chairing disciplinary hearings Matters involving municipalities public entities Working knowledge Municipal Systems Act related legislation Regular appearances High Court Labour Court Qualifications Experience LLB degree Admitted Attorney High Court South Africa Minimum 5+ years post-admission experience Right appearance High Court Registered LPC clear disciplinary record Proven ability manage complex high-value matters independently Full proficiency English Proficiency additional official South African languages spoken Strong leadership decision-making ability Excellent drafting analytical research skills Confident courtroom advocacy negotiation skills Ability work independently under pressure Strong client-facing commercial awareness Systems Software Training provided where required Microsoft Office Suite Legal Suite Court Online Caselines
