About the Company:


TASK is a South African headquartered, multinational clinical research institute that conducts clinical trials to determine the treatment effects of novel medicinal products or devices in healthcare and offers services in conducting complex clinical trials in a wide variety of therapeutic areas.


Overall Purpose of the Position:


Key Performance Areas (KPA's) & Responsibilities includes, but not limited to:

  • Oversight milestones and deliverables phage project: coordinating activities and managing timelines for ongoing preclinical phage studies and clinical projects, and planning of follow-up studies
  • Partnering with principal investigators (PI's) and a multidisciplinary team in planning new clinical trials
  • Implementing and maintaining project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and adhere to high quality standards
  • Formulating and managing overall resource requirements for projects, investigating viability of projects, identifying stakeholder needs and expectations and developing project scope accordingly
  • Leading crossfunctional study teams including serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple sites/departments are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
  • Providing input to budget negotiations and assisting finance team with managing budget
  • Tracking, analyzing and reporting on the progress of projects and ensuring deliverables are on time and within budget, adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs as required
  • Driving commitment and participation from relevant functional groups to produce the required input, participating, developing and finalizing study team level documents and meeting study team level deliverables within timelines
  • Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
  • Coordinating communication between internal and external stakeholders as needed
  • Managing meetings and communicating with key and other international stakeholders, where necessary, and taking and preparing minutes
  • Coordinating and liaising with internal teams and vendors to ensure that trial setup, prestudy activities, resources and agreements are in place
  • Managing and supporting clinical operations staff including delegating and overseeing study activities assigned, including report writing, and handling of documentation
  • Ensuring administrative compliance with Clinical Trial Protocols, GCP and SOP, including RSA regulatory requirements
  • Provide input on existing SOP's and suggesting updates as additional information becomes available
  • Resolving queries effectively and efficiently
  • Recognising and reporting issues of noncompliance to grant and consortium agreements

Ideal Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary level qualification (Bachelors' Degree)
years' Project Management / Clinical / Drug Development (Advantageous) Experience

  • Track record of managing Clinical studies / Various Projects
  • Working knowledge of regulatory standards and GCP guidelines
years' experience in leading and managing a team

  • Strong analytical skills (capable of managing crises as and when they arise)
  • Computer literate with Advanced Excel / PowerPoint Skills/project management software
  • Experience in planning, Risk mitigation strategies and Trial Budgets would be advantageous
