We are recruiting for a fun, energetic, innovative and enthusiastic Maintenance Stores Controller, with a positive attitude.

Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, the successful incumbent will be Responsible for the organisation and operation of the maintenance parts and tools stores, including stock control rotation, storage re-stocking procedures, tools and parts allocations as well as staff tool kit inspections in compliance to Marriott International Policies and Procedures.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • A Mature, energetic and quick witted
  • 23 years' experience in a similar position within a hospitality environment is preferable
  • Own transport would be an advantageous
  • Be flexible with regards to working hours
  • Ability to work independently and for long hours with little supervision
  • Proficiency in Ms Office programmes (Word/ Excel / Outlook) essential
  • Previous experience in stock control, stores or a similar position
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Attention to detail pertaining to area of responsibility
  • Should have good interpersonal skills
  • Experience in data capturing and stock taking
  • Be prepared to perform other duties within the maintenance department
  • Strong planning and organizing skills to meet deadlines with regards to operational requirements essential
  • Ability to work within a pressurized environment
  • Be familiar with workplace policies, rules, procedures and standards.
  • Be familiar with the organisation and operation of the maintenance tool and parts store to the satisfaction of the Chief engineer and in accordance with company policies and procedures and general administration of other jobs which may be assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • The answering of the telephones and assistance with the processing of maintenance requests.
  • Controlling & Issuing of Stock, Tools, Keys and all other maintenance requirements.
  • Monitoring & reordering of gas for all kitchens.
  • Liaising with suppliers for most competitive prices and quotes.
  • Call in subcontractors for certain maintenance issues.
  • Place orders for stock, receive stock, check and record.
  • Capturing of stock sheets for reordering.
  • To control abuse and breakages of equipment and to ensure all equipment and tools are handled and stored correctly
  • To be familiar with and understand the use of all spares and tools under positions control
  • Complete all daily duties as set out in departmental duties and requirements
  • To take full responsibility for Inventory Control in the department
  • Assist cost controller in determining par stock levels for stores as per consumption
  • Ensure all requested store requisitions are captured daily
  • To communicate between cost control, receiving and stores operations, and ensure strict adherence of stores and inventory procedures
  • Ensures that the standards of service excellence and guest satisfaction are met and maintained
  • Effective communication, problem solving, decision making and conflict management
  • Perform other reasonable job/duties as requested by the Chief Engineer
