Mechanical and Electrical Specialist as Maintenance Manager

Reports to: Factory Manager and Managing Director

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Skills:

Align large industrial gearboxes, shafts, couplings, and motors to precise specifications.
Fabricate components using CO2 welders and other conventional welding methods.
Conduct fitting and machine installation, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.
Demonstrate extensive hydraulics expertise, including stripping and reinstalling shafts, seals, power packs, and valve banks.
Perform servicing, repairs, and operations of machine tools such as bandsaws, radial arm drills, and magnetic drills.
Repair and service forklifts (advantageous).

Electrical Skills:

Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of 3-phase distribution board wiring.
Wire, service, and replace components in 3-phase DB boards.
Disconnect and reconnect 3-phase electric motors safely and efficiently. Replace and rewire electrical elements as needed.
Possess working knowledge of temperature controllers and temperature probes.

Leadership and Management Skills:

Lead by example, demonstrating maturity and resilience under pressure.
Inspire and uplift team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Run effective toolbox talks and other meetings to promote communication and safety.
Organize, delegate, and monitor tasks to ensure efficient workflow.
Solve technical problems and guide the team through complex challenges.
Mentor and train team members, ensuring skills transfer and professional growth.

Computer-Based Skills:

Production Experience:

Exposure to production planning and improvement initiatives (beneficial).

Qualifications and Experience:

Relevant technical qualifications in mechanical and electrical application.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Proven leadership experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Strong commitment to ethical standards and company values.
