Security Manager

Our client in the mineral processing industry is seeking a highly skilled Security Manager to lead their security team at their plant in KZN, South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security management and risk assessment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Manage and lead security risk management initiatives to ensure the safety of personnel and assets.
Provide expert advice and consultancy to management on implementing security operational plans that align with business objectives.
Develop and implement effective contingency plans for crisis situations, ensuring compliance with national legislation and international standards.
Facilitate, monitor, and enforce maritime security measures and procedures within the organization, adhering to the International Ship and Port Security (ISPS) Code and relevant regulations.
Conduct research and stay up-to-date with global security trends, best practices, and regulations to identify potential risks and mitigate them.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in security management, risk management, or a related field.
5 years of managerial experience, with 5 years of crime investigation experience and a proven track record in security management.

Skills:
Sound management and leadership skills
Knowledge of ISPS code, maritime security regulations, and other relevant legislation
Code EB Driver's Licence
Computer Literacy (Ms Office)
Good communication and influencing skills
Negotiation and coordination
Surveillance/Counter-surveillance training
Firearm Coordinator certificate
Investigations/intelligence
Knowledge of security and emergency risks within the workplace
