Description

Our client is looking for a Project Manager, That will work closely with the Chief Engineer to plan, allocate resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and inform stakeholders on all aspects of engineering and PLC projects to achieve the company's goals and objectives.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for preparing budgets, planning and executing the Pretoria bakery capital projects program
  • Manage projects to ensure ontime and inbudget execution
  • Plan and coordinate projects with other departments to ensure people safety, food safety, quality and assured supply goals are not impacted.
  • Develop sustainability initiatives and lead sustainability projects
  • Manage contractors effectively to ensure compliance to all Food Safety; Safety; and Quality standards within budget and time parameters.
  • Maintain good interdepartmental communication and cohesion.
  • Espouse the company's core values and behaviours
  • Responsible for designing, programming, repairing and maintaining programmable logic controller systems used within the bakery
  • Install and service measuring and indicating instruments to monitor process control variables associated with PLC's
  • Calibrate, repair, adjust and replace components and systems to diagnose faults and verify repairs
  • Establish and optimize process control strategies and configure related systems such as HMI's
  • Maintain backups, documentation and software revisions as part of an effective maintenance and sustainability program for PLC systems
  • Track and improve utility usage across the plant
  • All equipment and utilities tracking, measuring and record analysis
  • Provide technical support where required (onsite & remote/standby)
  • Other duties as reasonably required by the Chief Engineer

Qualifications:


  • Electro-Mechanical Trade Test/ Mechatronics trade test/Electrical Engineer with Allen Bradley background required
  • Formal Project Management qualification preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a technical position with PLC programming, automation and projects responsibilities
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an FMCG environment (Bakery preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in reading and modifying electrical control schematics
