To support the credit risk process through carrying out comprehensive and quality credit risk functions within the credit lifecycle to create shared growth within the boundaries of internal policies and external regulations for Growth Business clients

Job Description:

Duties will include optimisation of current manual excel and SAS reports into Power BI / Qlikview.

Incumbent should come from a financial or credit industry

The purpose of this role is to define the optimal portfolio shape through unpacking, understanding and management of volatile portfolio segments, capital consumption and returns.

This role will be responsible for the forecasting of future portfolio profitability, influencing acquisition and collections strategies and setting of risk appetite for both financial and non-financial risks.

This role will also take accountability to ensure leading-edge predictive techniques and modelling developed and embedded to ensure competitive and sustained advantage.

Modelling and Adhoc

Defining and monitoring financial and nonfinancial risk appetite.
Build and maintain financial forecasting models
Translate business questions to be solved into data requirements & define data solutions to deliver against these requirements

BI:
Data Sourcing / Infrastructure / Development & Maintenance

Query the relevant database to obtain data and create fit for purpose datasets, using the relevant tools
SQL, SAS
Identify and actively pursue acquisition of additional data from various data sources.
Conceptualise, design and build MI and BI models in support of business requirements.
Maintain and enhance MI/BI models to ensure relevance for decision making and sound data governance practice.

Requirements Gathering, Relationships & networking

Engage with internal business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure objectives, priorities and key requirements are agreed and understood.
Interpret data and identify issues, risks and opportunities and relate results and insights to Business users.
Establish and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders.

Governance & Project Management

Oversee integrity of reports, both when developing new report as well as when executing existing scripts to ensure data accurately presented.
Power BI / Qlikview

Financial or/and Banking Experience
Mathematical and statistical background/knowledge
3+ years postgraduate work experience in an analytics role
Multilingual with coding and programming skills and knowledge of an advanced analytics and data query tools: SAS, SQL, Python, R

The recommendation we put forth but not limited to, is as follows:

Bachelor (Honours) degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance or similar with focus on Information management, systems or databases
Business Mathematics and Informatics (BMI) students that would have the necessary skill set as stated above.
