Description

Manage all CLIENT transport movements by:

  • Monitoring all loads assigned to CSR Routes, assigning available vehicles and drivers to the route in VFT
  • Monitor real time Status Updated, either by Mobile App, GPS devise and in absence of such update in VFT directly. Using all the relevant systems and confidential information provided timorously within the customer's SLA
  • Ensure the compliance with the CLIENT SLA by all suppliers, DSV and CLIENT plant
  • Communicate with RTM and DSV CLIENT plant Management on all exceptions

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Full accountability and supervision of the operation
  • Planning and dispatching of loads, including allocating Drivers to relevant routes
  • Vehicle and load tracking
  • Managing the POD processing as well as Driver debriefing
  • Monitoring fuel and Driver overtime costs as well as ensuring vehicles are maintained and serviced
  • Ensuring client's needs and expectations are consistently met within scope of the SLA
  • Client interaction and issue resolution to ensure client satisfaction
  • Actively managing daily operational performance to consistently achieve performance metric targets
  • Delivering on client and internal requirements
  • Customer dissatisfaction process, analyze failures with regards to deliveries, client complaints, damages etc to determine root cause and corrective actions
  • Firm and consistent approach to ongoing performance measurement and management of team
  • Resolution of all IR issues in conjunction with HR
  • Coaching and mentoring of team to achieve client objectives
  • IDP and succession plans in place for key roles in place
  • Drive training interventions to close skills gaps in operations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Matric / Grade 12 (essential)
  • Tertiary qualification in Logistics Warehouse Management or equivalent (Advantage)

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Intermediate Microsoft Package ( Word, Excel PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Advanced Excel skills advantageous
  • Transport tracking systems exposure

Minimum Requirements:


  • At least 3 years logistics experience, specifically focused on Road Transportation and dealing with Superlink Linehauls and Milkruns
  • Prior Team Leader or Supervisory exposure
  • Experience in planning and allocation of loads as well as followups and tracking
  • Experience in capturing POD's and debriefing of Drivers
  • Experience in monitoring costs and overtime
  • Experience in Driver and Vehicle management
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi tasking
  • Coaching and mentoring skills
NB This role will require working shifts, including night and graveyard shifts and is a non-negotiable
