Logistics Route Planning Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Route Planning Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience in scheduling tools and efficient route planning, with a passion for logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technology Integration: Spearhead the integration of new route optimisation software and increase planning efficiency by training staff on its use and promoting a culture of innovation within the team.
• Optimise Routing: Manage the scheduling of over 100 daily routes, ensuring timely deliveries across multiple regions, develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges, and re-optimise routes and plans to ensure distribution within budget while meeting customer demand and managing inventory integrity.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with logistics, production, finance, and admin teams to streamline processes and enhance communication, facilitate weekly meetings to discuss distribution schedules and route performance, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in the logistics industry, specifically in route planning and optimisation.
• Degree in logistics, supply chain management or a related field is preferred.
• Proven proficiency in using logistics software and tools.
• Able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and high levels of attention to detail.

The estimated salary for this role is R30,000 per annum.
