    Job Summary

    We are seeking an experienced Independent Demand Planner / Buyer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing finished goods from cGMP-compliant suppliers, ensuring a seamless supply of products at optimal prices and specifications.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    1. BUILDING STRONG SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS: Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, establishing clear agreements and metrics.
    2. DUAL SOURCING EXPERTISE: Identify and develop dual sources of cGMP compliant suppliers to ensure business continuity.
    3. RFP AND NEGOTIATION SKILLS: Create and manage RFPs, RFQs, and negotiate pricing and supply terms with suppliers.
    4. ORDER MANAGEMENT: Place orders as per the planned master production schedule.
    5. ERP SYSTEM MANAGEMENT: Execute MPS on the ERP System, track open orders, expedite shipments, highlight concerns, and update the system in real-time.
    6. COST SAVINGS INITIATIVES: Conduct spend analysis and lead initiatives to reduce costs.
    7. NPD TEAM SUPPORT: Collaborate with the New Product Development Team to bring new products to market.
    8. DAILY PLAN SHARING: Share negotiated and agreed upon daily plans with contract manufacturers on a monthly basis.
    9. CONTRACT MANUFACTURER MANAGEMENT: Maintain said plans according to contract manufacturers' ongoing capabilities.
    10. STOCK STATUS REPORTING: Generate stock status reports on finished goods, providing visibility on potential stock outs or overstocking.
    11. WEEKLY REPORTS: Report findings to the management team on a weekly basis.

    Knowledge Required

    • SUPPLY CHAIN DEGREE: A degree in Supply Chain is essential.
    • FUNCTIONAL SPECIALIST QUALIFICATION: A postgraduate qualification as a functional specialist (not an MBA) will be advantageous.
    • COMPUTER LITERACY: Proficiency in MS Office package, especially Excel.
    • ERP SYSTEM KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of Sage / Xperdyte or similar ERP systems.
    • VOCATIONAL SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP: Active membership of an appropriate vocational society.

    Experience Required

    • ERP EXPERIENCE: Experience with an ERP system is required.
    • PLANNER / BUYER EXPERIENCE: At least 8 years' experience in the Planner / Buyer environment is essential.
    • COST SAVINGS TRACK RECORD: A proven track record of cost savings is required.
    • INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE: Experience in the Pharmaceutical or FMCG environment will be beneficial.
