Content Lead to spearhead our creative endeavors at BET Software Durban.


As the driving force behind our multimedia content, you'll forge a captivating online presence, devise ingenious content strategies, and nurture a thriving digital community.

Collaborating closely with our design and marketing teams, you'll ensure seamless integration across all platforms.


You Bring:


  • Bachelor's degree in literature, journalism, marketing, communications, or similar.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in content creation, marketing, communications, or similar.
  • A minimum of 6 years' experience in a managerial role.
  • Digital content production experience is a prerequisite, including proficiency in photography, motion graphics, or videography.
  • Proficiency in editing is essential for the role.
  • Copywriting skills would be beneficial.
  • Experience in developing digital marketing content plans and strategies is also required.
  • Hands on experience with MS Office and WordPress.
  • Basic technical knowledge of HTML and web publishing.
  • Good knowledge of various content platforms such as social media, blogs, and print media.
  • Good organisational and timemanagement and attention to detail skills.
  • Exposure to managing projects from inception to execution.
  • Good knowledge of content and layout design tools such as Adobe InCopy, InDesign, SEO, SMO, PPC.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to keep abreast of content and consumer trends and advancements in technology.
  • Strong aesthetic skills with the ability to combine various colours, fonts and layouts.
  • Attention to visual details.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with a team.

What You'll Do**:


  • Writing, editing and proofreading content. This should be done before publishing SEO content pieces.
  • Writing clear marketing copy to promote our products/services and for events and publications.
  • Proposing content concepts in an engaging way for projects and implementing them seamlessly once approved.
  • Leading a team of writers and overseeing content creation for the company website.
  • Liaise with content writers to ensure brand consistency.
  • Conceives and executes advertising and content consistent with agreed brand strategy.
  • Provide editorial, creative and technical support to team members.
  • Coordinating with the marketing, design, and writing teams to ensure the timely delivery of assignments.
  • Formulating a crossplatform content strategy.
  • Interpreting creative direction and technical information and turning them into persuasive and compelling content.
  • Brainstorm with team members to develop new ideas.
  • Build a following on social media.
  • Develop content strategy aligned with shortterm and longterm marketing targets and to effectively reach the desired target audience.
  • Collaborate with marketing and design teams to plan and develop site content, style and layout.
  • Ensure compliance with law (e.g. copyright and data protection).
  • Stay uptodate with developments and generate new ideas to draw audience's attention. Researching content and consumer trends to ensure that content is relevant and appealing.
  • Track web analytics to ascertain content engagement levels.
  • Managing content calendars and ensuring that the content remains consistent across all platforms.
  • Tracking consumer and content analytics and generating reports and presentations.
  • Identify customers' needs and gaps in our content and recommend new topics.
  • Keeping uptodate with content trends, consumer preferences, and advancements in technology.

Manage Content including Creation and Distribution:

  • Accountable for the overall distribution of content through various channels, including media, website, social media and various internal communication channels.
  • Resource and manage communication content, guidance and review for all collateral and messaging for a mix of internal and external audiences.
  • Manage and ensure quality is retained on platforms for BET content.
  • Support fundraising /sales focus.
  • Support the stakeholders to implement marketing strategy for BET and for fundraising by managing creation and flow of content.
  • Align communications strategy with engagement objectives.
Team Management

  • Lead, motivate, and support a growing team within a timesensitive and demanding environment, including career development plans and problem resolution.
  • Recruitment and setup of Teams to support business needs and growth.
  • Review of performance and implementation of performance appraisals.
  • Conduct training needs analysis to highlight training gaps and strategies to rectify these.
  • Ensure that clear goals are communicated to the team by delegating tasks and setting reasonable deadlines.
  • Oversee the daytoday operation of the team.
