    Description

    Safety Health and Environmental Manager

    We're excited to invite potential candidates for the Safety Health and Environmental Manager position with our esteemed client's team in a manufacturing setting, specialising in production processes. With a minimum of 8 years' experience in SHE manufacturing and at least 5 years in senior management roles, you will be ideal for this position.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain a robust safety management system.
    • Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures.
    • Evaluate contractor compliance with relevant safety regulations.
    • Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect best practices in safe work environments.
    • Manage employee training records and certifications.
    • Lead the Safety Committee and facilitate regular meetings.
    • Establish and implement an effective environmental management system.
    • Ensure ongoing compliance with environmental regulations.
    • Prepare permit applications and reports as required.
    • Identify and mitigate potential environmental impacts.
    • Provide guidance on effective risk management and emergency preparedness practices.
    • Supervise the Emergency Response Team and conduct regular drills.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive disaster plans.
    • Test and evaluate disaster response plans to ensure effectiveness.
    • Review and enhance existing SHE policies to align with industry standards.
    • Conduct thorough hazard assessments and maintain accurate records.
    • Recommend improvements to safety protocols and procedures.
    • Perform regular internal audits to assess compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure all employees understand their role in maintaining a safe working environment.
    • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance employee skills and knowledge.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • National Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification.
    • A minimum of 8 years' experience in SHE in a manufacturing environment.
    • At least 5 years' experience in senior management roles.
    • Relevant Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Environmental Management, or a related field.
    • Valid Driver's License (Code 08).
    • Bonus points: Additional certifications in HIRA, NOSA, SAMTRAC, ISO 14001, and/or OHSAS 18001 would be advantageous.
