Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Meet clientst and establish key role players and understand their expectations.

Establishing a good working relationship and successfully managing the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.

Understanding the terms of the commercial contract.

Clarification of job specifications and requirements with the client.

Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring feasibility.

Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs.

Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.

Coordinate internal resources and third parties for the flawless execution of projects.

Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.

Ensure that projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.

Ensure resource availability and allocation, as well as activity planning and sequencing.

Monitor project performance (progress, budget, quality and health and safety).

Ensure maximum productivity and efficiency on-site.

Perform risk analysis to minimize project risks.


Overseeing that the workload is delegated equally to the field crews, in a manner which promotes a co-operative working environment.

Managing costs on-site, including inventory to minimize delays and down time.

Understanding and implementing the terms and conditions of employment for the crew.

Implement, monitor and manage quality.

Evaluate progress payments and get sign-off from clients.

Follow up on payment.

Process all site instructions (determine cost and/or time implications).

Issue notifications to clients.

Attend site meetings with clients.

Resolve all project-related issues.

Monitor stock levels/losses and ensure that the stock count is accurate.

Monitoring all preventative maintenance schedule and ensure that it is adhered to

Updating project progress and submit to client and management.

Encouraging and enforcing safe work practices and enforce SHEQ compliance.


Making suggestions for improvements in equipment or operations, so as to ensure the continuing profitability and competitiveness of the Company.

Ensure co-operation between the field crews and maintenance staff.

Eliminate work-related injuries, damage to equipment and lost time as a result of accidents/ injuries.

Conduct periodic safety inspections of the work area.

Oversee the housekeeping and safety programs.

Ensure that safety recommendations are implemented following accidents and incidents.

Communicate any changes in procedures to the crew.

Communicate all relevant information to the CEO and the Client.


Communicate with the Site Supervisor and the crew to ensure tasks are completed safely, in a time and cost efficient manner.

Effective logístical planning of off-site service visits and maintenance projects.

Mechanical, hydraulic, electric, and electronic tooling knowledge

A comprehensive understanding and applied knowledge of hydraulics, engine mechanics, electrical, electronics, and technical schematics.

Full work and project initiation, full work and service delivery, and project completion administration, logistics, and feedback

Ensure all reports are submitted timeously and accurately.

Preparing weekly and monthly reports as requested by CEO.


Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12, Project Management qualification would be advantageous

10 or more years of experience in a similar role

Good background and expertise on Projects in mining environment

Well-developed computer skills to be able to implement and maintain effective processes and procedures.

Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act

Knowledge of ISO requirements

Experience:


  • Project management: 10 years (required)
  • Mining: 6 years (preferred)
