    We are seeking a skilled engineer to join our dynamic and growing team, focusing on building and maintaining tooling and automation that AWS support engineers rely on. This role involves designing, implementing, and refining technical solutions to complex problems, driving automation and refactoring of existing solutions, and ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency of automation processes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Design, build, and implement technical solutions to complex problems.
    2. Get exposure to a range of AWS software products, systems, infrastructure, hardware, networking, and processes.
    3. Drive automation and refactoring of existing solutions, including incorporating new generative AI and machine learning components.
    4. Ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency of automation processes.
    5. Develop new testing frameworks and tools to improve test coverage and efficiency.
    6. Develop mechanism to collect and analyze usage statistics of the tools and services that our team owns.
    7. Create dashboards and reporting tools to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
    8. Proactively identify and mitigate risks and deficiencies.
    9. Lead reviews of architecture, design, operations, process, or post-incident analysis for your team.
    10. Influence your team's technical and business strategy.
    11. Hire and develop others by leveraging your expertise, coaching, and mentoring.

    A Day in the Life:

    You will spend the bulk of your time analyzing systems and writing code, reviewing and approving code contributed by engineers outside of our team, and participating in 'on-call' rotations to resolve ongoing incidents. You will engage with stakeholders, build prototypes, and do deep dives on root cause analysis when things go wrong.

    About the Team:

    SysDev Engineering, Tooling & Automation (SETA) is a part of the AWS Frontline Support Organisation, focused on creating internal tooling as well as internal and external automation for AWS Support Customers and internal builders.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
    2. Experience with Linux/Unix.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes.
    2. Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure.
    3. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

    Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
