Description
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
- To manage the Treasury function ensuring effective treasury risk management including accurate and timely treasury reporting, that is within the local laws of the country and the internal control framework of the adidas group. In addition, perform key Financial Management and Controlling function by bringing financial transparency, analytics and effective internal controls in an accurate and timely manner to support the business in achieving short
Key Responsibilities:
Treasury
- Managing the local banking relationships of adidas
- Internally: Group Treasury
- Externally: Local Banks, SARB
- Twelve month rolling Cash Flow Forecast submission to adidas Group Treasury
- Ensure sufficient funding is in place to meet operational and investment requirements.
- Identify areas for improvement to ensure increased accuracy in cash flow forecasting process.
- Prepare and submit monthly Exposure Forecast
- Bank Account Management (BAM)
- Opening and closing of bank accounts
- Bank Account Maintenance (BAM)
- Users, Access Rights, Limits
- Payment approver for midmonth and month end vendor payments
- Annual renewal of SARB Approvals
- Bank Guarantees Maintenance
- Renewal, Cancellation, New
- Successfully roll hedge on EUR loan
- Adhoc reporting requirements
- Local and Global
Operating Expenses & CAPEX
- Full responsibility for the financial management including dynamic planning, analysis, controlling and reporting of the following areas of the business
- Back Office functions (Corporate, Brand, Wholesale)
Responsibilities to include:
- Accurate, timely and transparent preparation of Actual results, short and longterm Forecasts and annual Budgets in collaboration with business partners and finance team.
- Identifying risks and opportunities with recommended actions.
- Provide Actual vs Budget/PY Opex comments
- Provide business partners with financial support for strategic and operational decision making through standardized and adhoc financial reporting and analysis.
- Manage Corporate CAPEX budget and approve CAPEX requests
- Insurance
- Submit reports/claims and ensuring all records are kept up to date
Support F,P & A Director with planning and reporting requirements, driving value-adding insights.
Financial Management
- Detailed review of Balance Sheet reconciliations and Journal entries ensuring accuracy and timeous processing/clearing of reconciling items
Payroll
- Work closely with HR Director & Senior Manager HR Business Partner to ensure alignment on headcount
- Provide commentary on headcount movement to HUB controller
- Prepare bonus schedules

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Be a qualified accountant but with strong commercial finance experience (CA or CIMA membership or similar Accounting Body)
- Be a good allround communicator with the ability to display sound interpersonal skill as well as tact and diplomacy
- Minimum 5 yrs. post qualification experience
