  • The job will consist of:
  • Understanding the customers requirements, and if incomplete, being able to extract the information using pertinent questions.
  • Perform pump and flow meter selections using either selection manuals (performance curves etc) or computer based selection programs
  • Take note of all the customers requirements including quality and documentation requirements
  • Prepare a quotation to meet all the above requirements, in a neat and professional manner.
  • Be able to establish a friendly relationship with new and regular customers
  • Follow up on quotes as well as orders and giving customers feedback
  • Produce detailed costings, invoices and sales orders
  • Outsourcing other products that may be required from time to time.
  • Assisting walk in customers
    Inherent Requirements
  • The applicant will need to have as many of the following attributes as possible:
  • Must have sound knowledge of positive displacement, centrifugal and pneumatic pumps as well as flow meters.
  • Have knowledge in the petrochemical, oil and gas sector.
  • Technically minded with a passion for pumps, and understanding how pumps function.
  • Must be confident in their own pump selections and the products we sell.
  • Able to perform relatively simple mathematical calculations, for example to convert imperial to metric units i.e. horsepower to kW, PSI to bar etc.
  • Be able to understand determine the power demand required by a pump by reading and understanding flow, pressure and viscosity curves.
  • Have a good understanding what a pump system entails also what impact the flow, and viscosity will have on the system i.e. friction losses and power demand required by the pump.
  • Have a logical mind in order to solve system problems and avoid simple mistakes and orders of magnitude.
  • Well spoken and a good communicator
  • Computer literate, some CAD experience would be advantageous.
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Able to work as part of a team and support fellow team members
  • Able to get along with fellow team members from a variety of backgrounds
  • Genuinely interested in our type of work and be willing to work without constant supervision.
  • Customer & results orientated.
  • Goal orientated.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and own vehicle
  • Must be willing to go out and visit customers from time to time when required
