    Job Description

    Overview:

    The face-to-face channel has grown significantly, leading to the emergence of the OUTsurance Broker position. This role focuses on growing and developing the business insurance portfolio.

    Main Responsibilities:

    1. Sell new business insurance policies to clients.
    2. Provide exceptional client service and management.
    3. Achieve high-level performance targets.

    Responsibilities:

    Become a successful insurance broker by:

    • Prospecting for new clients through networking, cold calling, and door-to-door canvassing.
    • Effective communication with internal stakeholders and clients.
    • Conducting comprehensive risk evaluations for clients.
    • Providing tailored solutions to clients using OUTsurance short-term products.
    • Drafting, tracking, and measuring personal business plans.
    • Offering ongoing support to individual client bases (amendments, renewals, claims, etc.).
    • Retailing existing business, including renewal discussions aligned with FAIS.
    • Developing internal and external relationships with clients.
    • Continuously expanding the client base to secure future income.
    • Staying up-to-date with commercial insurance market changes and developments.
    • Achieving and exceeding targets consistently.
    • Providing feedback to line management when requested.
    • Attending weekly and ad-hoc team meetings.
    • Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders (underwriting/actuarial, claims, surveying).
    • Maintaining adherence to quality standards and measures.

    Requirements

    • Matric or National Senior Certificate.
    • FAIS credits or Full Insurance Qualifications (Depending on DOFA).
    • Possession of reliable transportation.
    • Minimum 3 years external sales experience (Outside of the insurance industry).
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
    • Numerical and mathematical skills.

    Additional Information

    Preference will be given to individuals who meet the job requirements and are from designated groups in accordance with OUTsurance Insurance Company Ltd Employment Equity goals.

    Reporting Lines:

    The OUTsurance Broker will report directly to the Regional Manager and collaborate with the wider Face to Face channel.
