    Job Summary

    This is a senior role that requires an experienced professional with expertise in construction law and contracts management. The ideal candidate will have at least 12 years of experience in infrastructure projects and be eligible to register as an arbitrator with Arbitration SA.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement guidelines for contracts management, ensuring compliance with the latest MFMA, PFMA and company SCM policies.
    • Draft standard contract documents for various contracts (JBCC/NEC/FIDIC/GCC).
    • Manage the legal compliance of tender/bid documents prepared by divisions and outsourced service providers.
    • Assist senior management in developing operations plans and budgets for CAPEX departmental budget incorporation.
    • Provide leadership and management through proactive planning.
    • Develop procedures (SOPs) for sustainable legal contracts management services.
    • Develop and manage CAPEX legal registers to ensure spending aligns with objectives.
    • Compile reports and statistics on legal compliance.
    • Utilize in-house MIS system and software to meet contractual MFMA and PFMA requirements.
    • Assist project management unit in procurement processes for capital and operation projects within the CAPEX environment.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Law or LLB with experience in construction contracts.
    • Eligibility to register as an arbitrator with Arbitration SA.
    • Minimum 12 years of relevant contracts experience in infrastructure projects.
    • Knowledge and experience in supply chain management and contract law.
    • Familiarity with NEC/JBCC/FIDIC/GCC contracts is mandatory.
    • A valid driver's license and own transportation are required.
