    Senior Financial Accountant

    About the Role

    We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our team at {company}, market leaders in their sector.

    The successful candidate will be based in Umhlanga Ridge and report directly to the Senior Finance Manager.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Prepare annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Analyze budget variances and provide actionable insights for management.
    • Deliver timely and accurate monthly and quarterly management accounts.
    • Ensure seamless reporting within group deadlines, leveraging technical skills and expertise.
    • Evaluate accounting, legislation, and tax compliance for existing and new products, minimizing risks and maximizing efficiency.
    • Manage VAT computations and reconciliation, maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
    • Drive insurance Bordereaux & collection campaigns, applying business acumen and analytical thinking.
    • Maintain knowledge of insurance sector regulations and the Companies Act, staying up-to-date on industry developments.
    • Collaborate with management to oversee external audit & FSP audit for FSCA, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.
    • Reconcile General Ledger control accounts with an enquiring mindset, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
    • Provide banking administration support, including daily transactional needs and general administration tasks.
    • Develop efficient cash planning strategies, scheduling transfers and payments effectively.
    • Calculate current portion debt and lease amortisation schedules, utilizing advanced financial analysis skills.
    • P Prepares external audit work, streamlining processes and enhancing quality.
    • Drive system projects and automation of financial reporting systems/reports, embracing innovation and best practices.
    • Foster effective communication channels between finance, other departments, and external stakeholders, building strong relationships and trust.
    • Investigate process improvements to ensure best practice adoption, driving efficiencies and excellence.

    Requirements

    • Matric certificate
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
    • 2-5 years post-graduate experience preferred

    Skills and Abilities

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with Executive Management and external stakeholders.
    • Solution-driven approach, with a focus on meeting tight deadlines and delivering results under pressure.
    • Able to multitask and manage multiple companies simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with a high level of technical proficiency.

    Estimated Salary Range

    R 800,000 - R 1,200,000 per annum
