    Description

    Fire Protection Supervisor

    The Fire Protection Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all servicing and compliance is in place throughout the portfolio with all Fire Services.

    Key Responsibilities

    Maintenance Management

    1. Oversees all fire related installations and maintenance throughout the portfolio, ensuring compliance with relevant Acts.
    2. Coordinates day-to-day maintenance and scheduled servicing to minimize business risk.
    3. Completes assists/register reports as required.
    4. Supervises external contractors to ensure works are completed as per quote and compliant with regulations.
    5. Authorizes adjudication costs for approval.
    6. Conducts building inspections to verify compliance with factors such as fire escapes, staircases, fire panels, sprinkler, and hose systems, including risk assessments.
    7. Capable of completing small designs according to SANS 10400.
    8. Ability to create small cost estimates for projects and maintenance works needed.
    9. Collaborates with engineers and supervises contractors on engineer-designed projects.

    Customer Service Management

    1. Liaises with tenants to resolve building maintenance queries timeously.
    2. Manages tenant-landlord relationships, fostering a positive working environment.
    3. Built effective relationships with contractors to optimize service delivery.
    4. Eases compliance with relevant legislation.
    5. Monitors and controls processes and systems within the area of accountability to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.

    Self-Development

    1. Identifies training/development needs and selects effective solutions to address gaps.
    2. Develops and implements a personal development plan to drive professional growth.

    Requirements

    1. Holds SAQCC certifications for handheld and detection.
    2. Possesses a valid Driver's License.
    3. Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Fire Technician/Supervisor.
    4. Demonstrates strong technical knowledge.
    5. Familiarity with various systems and products.
    6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    7. Proven problem-solving abilities.
    8. Implementation and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
