    Description

    Job Description

    To design, code, verify, test, document, amend and secure data pipelines and data stores according to agreed architecture, solution designs, standards, policies and governance requirements.

    This includes monitoring and reporting on own progress, as well as proactively identifying issues related to data engineering activities.

    Collaboration in reviews of work with others is also an important aspect of this role.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Design and develop data pipelines and data stores that meet agreed architecture, solution designs, standards, policies and governance requirements.
    2. Maintain and improve the quality of data pipelines and data stores.
    3. Collaborate with other teams to ensure effective implementation of data engineering activities.
    4. Monitor and report on own progress and identify areas for improvement.

    Requirements

    • Bachelors' or Master's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
    • At least 3 years' experience with Python, MS SQL, DataBricks, Lakehouse, Hadoop, Unix/Linux, MS Azure; MS Azure OpenAI, DevOps, Oracle SQL/PL/SQL.
    • Experience in building data visualisation solutions such as reports, regulatory reports, reconciliatory reports and dashboards.
    • Accounting or financial background or knowledge.

    Skills

    We are looking for individuals with strong technical skills, particularly in the following areas:

    • Python programming language.
    • Database management systems such as MS SQL and Oracle SQL/PL/SQL.
    • Data engineering tools such as DataBricks and Lakehouse.
    • Cloud platforms such as MS Azure.
    • DevOps practices and tools.
