Job Summary

The role manages a team of technical professionals that designs, implements, administrates, and improves the network infrastructure. Maintain the overall network platform stability, security and reliability. Own and drive the overall performance measurement and reporting of services. Continuously optimize the team's processes and implementations to improve reliability, costs, and delivery speed to our internal clients.

Job Description:


Key Accountabilities:
PLATFORM DIRECTION SETTING, SOLUTION DESIGN & PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

  • Build a leading practice 'centre of enablement' partnership with business trusted to influence the broader technology & product & services strategies & achieve an integrated set of technology, business & customer objectives.
  • Set the supported platform vision and direction for the organization
  • Design, implement & manage design thinking practices across platform feature teams to deliver architecturally sound platform technology solutions
  • Lead & facilitate the design of the integrated set of platform solution blueprints & coach teams on the strategic direction, vision, platform development, architecture & infrastructure holistically

PEOPLE

  • Set & Cascade platform vision, direction & strategy across squads (feature teams).
  • Design, implement and lead cross functional collaboration processes across technology teams and set crossteam commitments and achieve scale by enabling the work of others
  • Build a highperformance team environment through selfdirected teams by driving performance management & measurement that is aligned with agile working practices (including daily, weekly, etc. sprint routines, regular & honest feedback etc.)
  • Leverage coaching techniques to drive a higher quality design and deployment of technical products and services across technology teams
FINANCIAL & VENDOR MANAGEMENT, RISK & GOVERNANCE

  • Positively contribute to the development & management of the integrated platform cost model & framework.
  • Take full accountability for and lead the design & continuous improvement of an integrated platform specific cost model & the ongoing optimisation of platform efficiencies and effectiveness
  • Analyse operational cost data, identify costsaving efficiencies and influence the business to adopt these efficiencies across multiple service teams taking care to balance decision making for optimal efficiency & effectiveness

Minimum requirements:

Education:


  • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology and Professional Qualifications [NQF8]

Preferred Experience:

  • 510 years in a similar role within a financial institution
  • Experience of working at a senior level providing specialist policy/process advice.
  • Experience of working in a complex organisation covering a wide range of employee groups.
  • Experience of leading projects and undertaking reviews of policies/processes, assessing strategic options, and developing and implementing new processes/approaches.
  • Extensive experience in contributing to and implementing longterm strategies, collaborating, and promoting integration across value chains, dealing with external stakeholders, driving employee centricity, and leading a senior team is essential.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Sound business acumen and judgement and awareness of developments in the marketplace (economic, sociopolitical, technological and regulatory) considering revenue, risk and cost implications in deploying organisational architecture, design and effectiveness processes and practices
  • Strategic thinking ability to consider issues broadly and develop strategies to achieve critical outcomes
  • Ability to influence and empower the broader people community to implement a comprehensive total rewards strategy aligned with the organisation's goals and objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and effective team management
  • High selfawareness, situational awareness, and integrity.
  • Knowledge and understanding of computer network infrastructure, policies adopted to protect the network and the accessible resources from unauthorised access and monitoring and measurement of effectiveness in the Organisation
