My client seeks a multi-skilled Demand Planning & Procurement Specialist for their growing food manufacturing business in Cape Town's Southern Suburbs.

You will be responsible for procurement and stock management, ensuring materials are acquired at optimal prices within set timeframes. As the successful incumbent you will be results-driven, decisive, principled, collaborative, and excellent communication skills.


Responsibilities:


  • Determine procurement needs of the business, ensuring all stores are correctly stocked and managed
  • Ensure all raw materials and packaging are available on time as needed by production
  • Determine weekly planning schedule
  • Responsible for forecasting, sourcing, negotiating, contract management, and supplier relationship management
  • Prepare associated reports for the management team, including recommendations to improve performance and reduce costs
  • Planning and sequence plan
  • Calculating forecasts, ordering, and tracking bulk orders from local and overseas suppliers
  • Calculating forecasts, ordering, and tracking all packaging orders
  • Manage team responsible for the daytoday ordering of raw materials and logistics handling
  • Manage stock control/counts and take responsibility for variances and COS calculations
  • Manage suppliers, ensuring ontime, infull deliveries at the required specifications
  • Negotiating prices and trying to get better deals
  • Investigate potential new suppliers
  • Develop procurementrelated policies as may be needed
  • Costings

Requirements:


  • Tertiary qualification in Cost Accounting or Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar role
  • Valid RSA driver's license
  • Strong numeracy skills and ability to analyse data essential
