The Company
Our client operates on a large-scale copper and cobalt deposits, both open pit and underground, with high-grade mineral reserves. Metals production is conducted using up-to-date metallurgical processing. They are one of the world's largest diversified natural resource companies, producing and marketing over 90 commodities worldwide. The company's operations include copper, zinc, nickel, cobalt, and precious metals mining.

The Role

As a Senior SAP FICO Support Specialist you will be responsible to provide second and third level support processes in S/4 HANA to the SAP support centre and to the Regional Financial Controller of Africa, Australia, South America and Canada.

In addition, responsible for delivering high quality support to provide solutions to all FICO SAP activities based on its experience in SAP FICO configuration and data analysis.

The Responsibilities

Project and Support Tracking and Reporting on deviations
Project and Support Risk and Issues Management
Logistics and planning coordination
Design, implement and maintain SAP FICO modules using best practices.
Provide second and third level support in SAP FICO area to Site Super User and End Users financial processes and integration to/from Finance in SAP and Master Data.
Identify gaps and issues and assist with solutions
Determine complex business requirements (e.g., Functional and Technical, information needs, business processes) through informationgathering sessions.
Analyse information gathered, document business requirements and map to SAP business processes.

Configure FICO solutions

Financial Accounting, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cost and Profit Centre accounting
Functionality testing: knowledge of, and ability to use, testing methodologies, processes and tools, including unit, integration, system, regression and dry run testing.
Coordinate execution of project and support tasks in functional area.
Involved in ongoing SAP global roll out
Lead and provide Level 3 support to site super users and end users as required.
SAP System monitoring related to Business Processes
Provide and implement SAP FICO bug fix solutions
Execute and implement systems upgrades.
Provide support to Master Data Governance (MDG)

The Requirements

Matric
National Senior Certificate
Preferred Accounting or IT Degree or Diploma equivalent
SAP Certified
S/4 Hana Experience
15 years of SAP experience plus at least 8 full cycle implementations
Demonstrated written and oral English language proficiency. Other languages are an advantage, such as French and Spanish
Strong experience in both support and implementation environments
Strong client relationship skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
Strong functional/ technical knowledge across the Financial Stream
Expert level to guide, develop and influence practice in SAP and S/4 HANA implementations and developments. Requires detailed knowledge of principles and concepts in own area and limited knowledge of related functions.
Excellent understanding of accounting, controlling and finance processes
Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
Confidence and ability to make recommendations for selection of appropriate SAP business processes
Mining business implementation of SAP
Crosscultural Communication skills
