    Description

    Job Description: Financial Manager

    Reporting Structure:

    The Financial Manager will report to the General Manager and Divisional Finance Executive with a firm dotted line reporting to Group Financial Director.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Monitor and manage day-to-day financial operations, including payroll, creditors, debtors, and other financial transactions.
    • Oversee and manage the performance of financial department employees.
    • Prepare and submit monthly financial reports, including profit estimates, management accounts, cash flow management, and forward forecasts in accordance with the group's financial calendar.
    • Manage year-end accounts packs and prepare annual budgets and forecasts.
    • Authorize and approve daily and weekly EFT payments, and ensure cash management of the company.
    • Review general ledger reconciliations periodically and maintain key internal controls to mitigate risk of fraud and error.
    • Attend and oversee internal and external audits, and manage stores and procurement.
    • Coordinate bi-annual stock takes, participate in tender VETs, and assist with commercial and financial conditions related to tender preparation.
    • Ensure accurate job costing and inventory management, and provide financial support to sales and finance teams.
    • Implement and adhere to the Group Finance Policy, understand and comply with financial regulations and legislation.
    • Prepare insurance renewal documents, monthly tax computations, and year-end tax packs.

    Human Resources Management:

    • Comply with and assist in the development of the Company's Employment Equity and Skills Development Programs.
    • Train, motivate, recruit, and discipline personnel, and perform performance management of subordinates and job descriptions.
    • Submit EE reporting, MERSETA, and RMA submissions.

    Quality, Environment, Occupational Health & Safety Management Responsibilities:

    Enforce the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, and the Company Management Systems as defined in the Manuals, Procedures, Processes, and Operating Instructions addressed by these standards and relevant to the Financial Department.

    Financial Management:

    • Prepare monthly financial and management reports, year-end financial reports, annual budgets, strategic plans (5 years), cash management, and feasibility studies that have a financial impact on the company.
