Conducting and overseeing regular inspections to ensure that all special market requirements are adhered to in accordance with packhouse protocols and DALRRD.
Managing the quality and quantity control during Flow wrapping.
Accurate capturing of quality rejections and client feedback.
Assist with investigations, data compilation, and reporting of claims, incidents, and customer queries.
Assist with Fabrication inspections and assignment of maintenance jobs resulting from the inspections.
Management of additional pallet stock inspection requests from exporters.
Management of the necessary information to obtain and maintain Indonesian Food Safety certifications.
Assist the Quality Assurance Manager to update customer specifications.
Execution of internal quality projects and tracking against set targets.
Compliance and Team Management
Assist with the training and education of the relevant departments regarding food safety standards.
Assist with the execution and compilation of competency assessments and documentation thereof.
Compilation of reports for customers based on MRL results.
Conduct additional internal quality audits on relevant departments to ensure compliance and records are updated.
Assist with compliance-related projects and data capturing for the packhouse.
Tracking of carbon footprint information for relevant departments and reporting trends to the Compliance Manager.
Participate in internal auditing regarding food safety.
Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders.
Train and equip team members to perform optimally
Qualifications and Experience:
Qualifications:
A relevant tertiary qualification and or Diploma in Horticulture, Food Science or Food Safety
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years prior experience in a supervisory or management role within a fruit / fresh produce environment
Experience in a packhouse will be advantageous.
Has a sound understanding of industry food safety requirements (e.g. BRC, HACCP)
Sound understanding of post-harvest fruit handling.
Sound understanding of cold chain management.
Sound understanding and ability to interpret packing specifications.
Knowledge and experience of pome fruit and / or berries is compulsory.
Sound Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Vitrax knowledge will be advantageous.

Pay:
R25 000,00 - R33 000,00 per month
