Business Analyst Position

ARB Electrical Wholesalers has grown to become a nationwide BBBEE supplier of electrical products since 1980. The company listed on the Main Board of the JSE in 2007, enabling it to expand nationally and across the continent.

With over 650 staff members and 22 branches in all 9 provinces, including an online store, ARB provides a wide range of internationally recognised and SABS approved products across four main categories:

1. Power and Instrumentation Cable
2. Overhead Line Equipment & Conductors
3. General Low Voltage Products
4. Lighting & Renewable Energy Solutions

We are seeking a Business Analyst to be based in our Midrand or Durban branch.

Duties & Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

Business Analytics:

• Develop and manage a data warehouse for the business, ensuring ETL processes provide consistent and accurate reporting.
• Define and deliver metrics, reporting platforms, and analytical models to track and manage the business.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy specific dashboards and reporting insights.
• Deliver key insights on trends, growth opportunities, optimisation, and improvements to stakeholders across the business.
• Own and manage a business intelligence strategy for the business.
• Manage and support the master data process to ensure suitable levels of data accuracy and quality.

Business Analysis:

• Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, identify areas for improvement, and develop solutions.
• Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and develop strategies for optimisation and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with the business and application providers to ensure requirements are adequately rationalized, documented, implemented, and supported.
• Manage small, medium, and large-sized projects, maintaining high-level project governance during the project lifecycle.
• Drive change management across the business to support analytics and analysis projects, initiatives, and ongoing activities.
• Document business cases to support continuous improvement initiatives, backed by a sound return on investment.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Data Science, or Information Technology
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in data analysis, business analytics, or business analysis
• Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, databases, and business process mapping
• Firm understanding of data warehousing, data modelling, and ETL processes
• Sound understanding of project management methodology and related concepts
