PURPOSE OF ROLE
A Configuration Control Specialist possesses and applies wide-ranging knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.


KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Responsible for advising on performance management issues, documenting software (M-Files), and hardware control.
  • Managing documentation changes, processing change requests, and conducting configuration audits.
  • Review and recommend improvements to existing CM procedures.
  • Collaborate with Engineering team in development, upgrades, and maintenance of CM in projects.
  • Analyse configuration issues and develop appropriate resolutions and action items.
  • Conduct guidance and trainings on Engineering teams and document controllers.
  • Evaluate performance of team members and provide feedback for improvements.
  • Implement configuration and change management process.
  • Defining road maps for document management.
  • Provide data governance to maintain Configuration principles through their lifecycle.
  • Advise project configuration management resources.
  • Expenditure roll out of M-Files to each Functional Area
  • Configuration of software/coding of technical specifications

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant Degree or Diploma
  • Excellent understanding of Computer tools
  • Configuration Control Specialist experience at a senior level in a Technical environment advantageous
  • 10 years Advanced experience in Configuration Control Activities throughout the EPC Project Lifecycle
  • Must understand basic principles of Engineering / Procurement / Construction and Project Management documents.
  • Must have Knowledge of Electronic Document Management Systems_._


  • Experience on M-Files

  • Document control services support, reviewing, design and system updates in accordance with submissions.

KNOWLEDGE, AND BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge in use of spreadsheets, database, word processing and selected job specific software.
  • Ability to keep clear and accurate records and reports.
  • Ability to use computer and rapidly input data and retrieve records and information.
  • Ability to organize workload and to manage a filing methods and management techniques.
  • Good Communication skills

KNOWLEDGE:


  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of ISO10007 Documentation and Records management requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of documentation hardcopy and electronic storage.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of plant identification codes of product delivered.
  • Knowledge and understanding of project document control systems.
  • Be able to effectively manage and control project deliverable documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

SKILLS:


  • Computer Literate (Outlook, Excel, Word & Power Point)
  • Experience with setup of Document Control hard copy filing systems ('Master' hard copy storage)
  • Presentation skills and onthejob training skills
  • Document Hand over, Archiving and Project Close-Out experience.
