PURPOSE:

The Project Manager is responsible for managing contracts in such a way to reduce the likelihood of receiving claims from contractors, ensures that contractors deliver based on baselined project schedules through the various project resources and shared resources.

The incumbent oversees and manages the project deliverables and strategy in-line with program management objectives, and further oversees the project from the start through to completion, ensuring that work is completed on time and within its budget, safely.

The Project Manager reports to the Program Manager, coordinates, and manages the resources in his team both in the office and on site and interfaces with SPM, Engineering, Planning, Costing, Risk, and the Vendors through Procurement.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Audit Management

Closely monitor contractor schedules, progress reports, site instructions and other project documents on an ongoing basis to determine progress against baselines (Performance)
Implement corrective actions were required to correct gaps identified that can place a risk on Our Client.

Business Operations

Coordinate plans and estimates, including budgets and timescales.
Ensure clear alignment of team. Prepare and present documents as required.
Agree any extra work to be done within set timescales and costs through Contracts manage.
Facilitate dispute resolution. Closely align with client.
Identify areas for improvement in existing processes and strive for excellence.

Compliance, Governance and Assurance

Ensure compliance to policies, systems, procedures, and legislation and adhere to sound corporate governance principles.
Implement portfolio targets in alignment with legislation and charters (e.g. Mining Charter, BBBEE, SHE, Covid19 etc)
Facilitate Quality Assurance on contracts and provide guidance to Contract Specialists
Identify and manage project risks.

Effective People Management

Responsible to manage direct subordinates. Engage with various project stakeholders.
Create an environment that focuses on process execution excellence, high performance, and improvement.
Provide inputs for efficient development, career path and deployment of resources and shared services.
Recruitment, performance management and coaching of staff members.

Project and Portfolio Management

Provide commercial and financial inputs where required.
Facilitate and generate required project documentation to conform to Our Clients Project Governance.
Manage/ facilitate the Project Schedule, Risk, Quality, safety and Cost.
Contribute to execution of MLOMP strategy and targets.
Contribute to lifecycle processes and controls.

Safe and Healthy Work Environment

Facilitate and maintain a healthy environment, safe operations and
Practices through the program safety manager and the project safety officers.
Responsible for own safety
Facilitate compliance to applicable SHE policies and procedures in line with

- set standards.

Ensure good housekeeping principles are upheld in the workplace.
Encourage a culture that focuses on safety in all operation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor of Engineering degree (Essential/Minimum)
8 years relevant experience in managing multibillionrand construction and mining MEGA Projects.
Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
Competence: MS Office Relevant Packages (Essential/Minimum)

Salary:
R150, R156,000.00 per month
