Komatsu Africa Holdings (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced Engineer to join this dynamic organisation as General Manager for the Remanufacturing Division.

The incumbent will strategically lead the operations and growth of the Reman Division.


Strategy & Policy

  • Translate organizational strategy into a Remanufacturing Operations business plan
  • Develop, implement, and maintain processes and procedures to ensure achievement of objectives
  • Develop and administer budgets and business plans for the division
  • Define the mediumterm CapEx plan in line with the strategy and business plan
  • Lead team members in executing the strategy, translated into an annual business plan

Functional Focus

  • Develops and directs the medium to long term business strategy & operational plans
  • Strategize and envisions future organisational changes with the Senior Executive team
  • Liaises with customers and gains input regarding their machine maintenance planning/change outs/future requirements/cost strategies etc. to develop Reman operational plan
  • Ensures ISO compliance within the organization
  • Liaises with Global affiliates to ensure alignment with Komatsu standards and best practice
  • Provides feedback to the senior executive team on objectives and goal attainment
  • Create the environment in which employees can do their work safely, effectively and efficiently
  • Identify needs and opportunities, and drive development and growth of employees while retaining professionalism and discipline within the team.

Minimum requirements:


  • Degree in Engineering
  • Mechanical/Mining, (MBA or equivalent will be an advantage)
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in a maintenance/ production environment (preferably earth moving equipment)
  • Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) preferable
  • SAP Proficient
  • Technically astute with proven technical ability especially in the Earthmoving maintenance sphere
  • Output driven to deliver results at operational and corporate level
  • Calculated, selfconfident and practice calm and sound judgement under pressure
  • Strategically focused
  • Passionate and optimistic; inspires respect and trust; mobilizes others to fulfil the vision; provides inspiration to peers and subordinates.
  • An above average leader of people driving productive behaviour
