The Challenge
Our Business Unit Export is responsible for worldwide sales and marketing of our brands. We believe that strong local partnerships are key to build long term sustainable brands. Achieving this is a joint effort of our sales and marketing colleagues operating worldwide.


To further strengthen our MEA (Middle East & Africa) team we are looking for a Trade Marketing Assistant who will build our brands in selected African markets by increasing the brand(s) presence in store and in minds of our target consumers.

Deploy your expertise in below-the-line activities according to the brand strategies. Be the expert in point of sales visibility and activation. Functional lead and mentoring role to local brand staff teams.


What are you going to do?

  • You understand the local consumers, customers, and competitors, and the role the category and the brand could play in each market. Undertake initiatives and actions alongside sales leads and inmarket partner staff to increase the penetration of the brand in the local market.
  • You are a custodian for the brand visibility and assure optimal instore impact.
  • You develop activations and experiences that work to increase the value of our brand building initiatives (BTL and POS).
  • You will be the Community Lead for the online platforms throughout the region and will have a key role in execution and management of our online and traditional media strategy.
  • You will be responsible for planning execution in trade channels.
  • You will lead, train, and mentor local brand staff teams.
  • You coordinate the marketing budget and spending, training initiatives, and the sales/brand kits.
  • You will occasionally travel to our key African countries.

Who are you?

  • You are living in Johannesburg.
  • As Trade Marketing Assistant you have a bachelor's degree, and at least 35 years' experience in the FMCG market. (Alcoholic, nonalcoholic OR CSD products)
  • Your core expertise is marketing, you believe that brands make the difference; sales experience is a strong additional value.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills; you get things done on different levels. You have a creative mind and always looking for solutions.
  • You are familiar with the South African market.
  • You are a curious and independent person willing to travel into the region (East Africa, Central Africa) to implement activities with clients & colleagues.
  • Furthermore, you are a proven relationship builder with a history in value growth through brands. You can influence people through open and factual communication.
  • You have advanced knowledge of MS Office.
  • You are fluent in French and English (nonnegotiable); fluency in Lingala and/or Swahili is a great asset.
