Scrum Master Job Specification

Responsibilities:

-
Scrum Facilitation: Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, ensuring they are well-organized, focused, and productive.

Team Empowerment: Support and enable self-organization within the development team. Encourage collaboration, effective decision-making, and ownership of tasks.

Removing Roadblocks: Identify and remove impediments that hinder the team's progress. Collaborate with stakeholders and management to resolve issues and create a smooth development process.

Supporting Product Owner: Work closely with the Product Owner to ensure the product backlog is well-maintained, prioritized, and ready for the upcoming sprints.

Metrics and Reporting: Track team performance metrics and report on progress to stakeholders and management. Use data to identify areas of improvement and celebrate successes.

Coach and Mentor: Guide the team and organization on Agile practices, Scrum values, and principles. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

Conflict Resolution: Act as a mediator in times of conflict and foster a positive team environment built on trust, collaboration, and open communication.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Facilitate communication and collaboration between cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Agile Best Practices: Stay up-to-date with Agile best practices and industry trends. Share knowledge and contribute to the improvement of Agile methodologies within the organization.


Requirements:

Scrum Master Certification: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification is required.

Experience: Proven experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile coaching role, leading successful software development projects using Scrum or other Agile frameworks.

Strong Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively communicating with team members, stakeholders, and management.

Servant Leadership: Demonstrated ability to be a servant leader and foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Ability to address challenges and promote a positive team atmosphere.

Continuous Improvement: A passion for continuous improvement and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.

Technical Understanding: Basic understanding of software development processes and technologies is desirable but not mandatory.

Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and handle multiple priorities effectively.


Bonus Skills:


  • Experience with other Agile frameworks (Kanban, Lean, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Agile scaling frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, etc.).
  • Experience with Agile project management tools (JIRA, Trello, etc.).
