Senior PMO Specialist - Johannesburg, South Africa - H2R Africa
Description
To ensure the governance and delivery of relevant Global IM and BU projects within the agreed schedule, budget and quality parameters.
Duties:
- Provide regular progress updates according to the Global PMO standards
- Work collaboratively with site based leadership, IM Delivery specialists and project stakeholders to ensure effective communication and engagement through the planning and execution stages of the project
- Implement Project Level assurance activities
- Oversee project scheduling and cost controlling
- Manage project issues and escalate critical issues to the HODs in a timely and appropriate manner
- Ensure availability of all the relevant enabling technologies for regionbased project delivery
- Ensure the delivered solution complies with all AA Global Standards but specifically the IM enterprise architectures and design across the multiple function areas
- Monitor that the relevant safety training is completed for all vendors and project managers brought on board to deliver IM projects
- Establish 5 year IT Portfolio plans for all Business Units (Global IM (incl. ICS), Platinum, Kumba, Thermal Coal, Met Coal, IOB, NNP, Copper)
- Manage Reallocation of funding within each Portfolio
- Manage, track and report on Cash Flow Forecasts for all Portfolios
- Track and Report on governance compliance to IM Prince2 Methodology
- Conduct Project Health Checks to ensure consistence in project delivery and assist PMs with issues.
- Ensure that project benefits are captured and tracked post project delivery
- Manage engagement with BU Capital teams to ensure smooth funding approval processes
- Directly oversee Divestments and Acquisitions
- Conduct Project Audits to ensure projects are compliant
- Refine and continuously improve the PMO Methodology
- Manage the accrual process
- Training of users on Prince2 Methodology
- Distribute Portfolio reports to HODs
- Assist with recruitment of Project Resources (contractors)
- Provide regular financial progress updates according to the Global PMO standards
- Work collaboratively with sitebased leadership, IM Delivery specialists and project stakeholders to ensure effective communication of the financial health of the project
- Implement Project Level financial controls
- Manage financial escalations from PMs in conjunction with Finance Team
Formal qualifications:
- An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors Degree or equivalent) in the relevant IM Discipline
- Desirable: It would be advantageous to have a postgraduate qualification in the relevant IM discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity
Role-specific knowledge:
- the specific IM field, controls and risk mitigation
- proficiency in the required languages
- the IM Region systems
- Business Unit plans and initiatives
Safety Knowledge:
- Provides a consistent outstanding role model in relation to safety practices with a deep understanding of the importance of safety
