Job Purpose
The
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to:
Analyses and presents data in a way that provides actionable insights, by presenting findings in a practical and interpretable way for the business.
Identifies key trends in large datasets and interacts with business to understand the impact of these trends and identifies actions to mitigate or take advantage of the trends identified.
Identifies appropriate models / algorithms to mine large datasets and develop rich insights into customer behaviour. Enhances data sets by enriching these with previously unknown insights.
Builds analytics assets and processes to ensure repeatable results and enabling automation and reuse.
Drives implementation on key projects identified through analytics by engaging relevant stakeholders, ensuring projects progress as planned and conducting supplementary analysis for decision making.
Works closely with the Business Engineers to identify and analyse business process analytics that will assist the Business Engineers in optimising business processes.
Responsible for working with and growing a team of analytics professionals.

Personal Attributes and Skills

Strong interpersonal and managerial skills.
Proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
Ability to work with, analyse and report on data.
Advanced SQL skills.
Advanced PowerBI or similar visualisation technology skills
Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills.
Ability to understand end to end processes and customer journeys and correlate data / analysis outputs to these process elements.
Basic understanding of process and engineering principles such as Six Sigma, Lean, etc.
Understanding market trends and customer needs.
Basic knowledge of traditional statistical hypotheses testing.
Knowledge of client experience principles is advantageous.
Knowledge of statistical packages and / or advanced modelling advantageous.

Education and Experience

Degree in Informatics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics or Finance. Other analytical degrees will also be considered, e.g. Computer Science or Engineering.
Data mining and advanced analytics experience advantageous.
Additional process related experience or accreditation advantageous.

years in a role that involved data analytics, preferably involving process analytics.

2+ years in a managerial role.
Retail banking experience preferred.
