    Job Title: General Manager

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead our Industrial Equipment business in Cape Town.

    About the Role:

    The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Director and be responsible for managing the efficient operations of 4 branches in the Western Cape.

    • Key Responsibilities:
    • Ensure profitable branch operations by managing margins and discounts.
    • Maintain adherence to company sales strategies by Sales Representatives.
    • Monitor and manage expenditure within flexible budgeting frameworks.
    • Implement corrective actions to ensure consistent profit growth.
    • Verify goods received, perform stock checks, and maintain accurate inventory levels.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction through timely and complete deliveries.
    • Achieve agreed customer service turnaround standards.
    • Oversee logistics and courier services to meet service level agreements.
    • Monitor and improve customer service standards in call centers and internal sales teams.
    • Ensure warehouse operations adhere to standard operating procedures.
    • Resolve customer complaints and queries within set timeframes.
    • Foster strong customer relationships and take ownership of complaint resolution.
    • Promote digital platform usage and implement online transactions.
    • Manage headcounts and overtime within approved budgets.
    • Develop effective leave planning and absenteeism management strategies.
    • Provide coaching and training interventions to enhance employee performance.
    • Review performance, agree ratings, and set new goals with employees.
    • Communicate constructively and provide feedback to employees.
    • Take disciplinary action when necessary.
    • Develop formal succession plans for key positions.
    • Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
    • Protect and secure company assets according to policy and procedure.
    • Implement and enforce internal controls.
    • Compile meaningful and accurate management reports.

    Requirements:

    To be successful in this role, you will require:

    • Grade 12 qualification.
    • Three-year Business Management or Commerce degree.
    • At least 8 years of experience in Sales and Operational Management, preferably in PPE, Wholesale, or Retail at a senior management level.
    • Willingness to travel.

    Salary:

    R800,000 - R1,200,000 per annum, depending on experience.
