REQUIREMENTS

  • Matric, technical or operations qualification advantageous
  • Min five years experience in the capacity of a Production Manager
  • Bilingual in Afrikaans & English, good written and communications skills
  • Computer literate
  • Structured, detail oriented with ability to follow tasks through to completion
  • Good negotiation and decisionmaking skills
  • Results driven and can work under pressure
  • Selfstarter who works well unsupervised
  • Good standard of production excellency, flexible, analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Excellent Managerial, Leadership and Team building skills

DUTIES

  • Monitoring & analysing current production & derive new strategy for improvement if necessary
  • Managing daytoday activities, analysing statistics and preparing reports
  • Training/supervising new direct reports & tracking and measuring staff performance
  • New product introduction into manufacturing facility and controlling change
  • Managing quality assurance programs
  • Researching new technologies and alternative methods of efficiency
  • Setting and reviewing budgets and managing cost
  • Overseeing inventory related to running of the factory, distribution of goods and facility layout
  • Monitor workday schedule, manage daily plan and financial resources
  • Conduct daily meetings, ensure startup and shutdown procedures are followed
  • Manage production process, maintain WIP at all production processes & support team
  • Plan appropriate shift coverage ensuring production targets are met
  • Review and log downtimes and submit daily reports and conduct handover
  • Tracking of units to ensure ontime, infull production targets are achieved to due dates
  • Ensure that targets are monitored on an hourly basis and address any issues as they arise
  • Report on targets during daily meetings and provide explanations for deviations
  • Ensure firstline maintenance is carried out & equipment breakdowns are addressed promptly
  • Compile monthly reports on progress against KPIs
  • Ensure staff development, coach and mentor direct reports & resolve performance issues
  • Oversee production quality to ensure zero defects and adherence to specifications
  • Ensure team are working to BIQ and adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Manage PPE, conduct regular housekeeping audits and adhere to 5S principles
