Purpose of the role:


To work in conjunction with the Shift Leader facilitating the operations of the Store from end-to-end and making sure that customer orders are processed within the expected timeframes.

Effectively manage a team of Store Associates ensuring that operations run smoothly and metrics are consistently achieved. Build stakeholder relationships, implement SOP's, and maintain accurate stock records.

Act as Second In Charge (2IC) to the Shift Leader to ensure that the store runs smoothly and that risk and stock control processes are carried out effectively.


Responsibilities:

Store Operations

  • Executing store leadership tasks, including stock management, daily ordering, leading by example and being responsible for the store while on shift.
  • Supervising all store operations, including picking and packing as well and loading and unloading,
  • Working alongside the Shift Leader to promote a highperformance team culture including a proactive approach to Safety, Process Accuracy and Customer Experience
  • Monitoring and continuously improving on a range of Key Performance Indicators, including stock accuracy, quality control, efficiency and continuous improvement strategies
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, performance and mitigate risk striving for accurate, on time delivery at all times
  • Acting as keyholder and being responsible for the store in the absence of the Shift Leader
  • Ensuring accurate and effective delivery and stock transactions are maintained, including ensuring that all deliveries are checked in within 60 minutes of receipt
  • Managing end to end stock takes and taking steps to reduce waste and shrinkage
  • Performing administrative duties and additional functions as needed and determined by the Shift Leader, Area Manager and/or Operations Manager
Team Leadership

  • Assisting the Shift Leader in providing guidance to the Store Associates to ensure the team achieves high levels of excellence in all aspects of operational requirements
  • Training new team members and being confident on process and product at all times
  • Ensuring safety standards are continuously evolving, championing change when risks and opportunities are identified
  • Growing and mentoring your team to develop their technical capability

Requirements:


  • Grade 12 education + a tertiary qualification in Retail
  • 2+ years experience working within an retail, operations, logistics environment
  • Open to flexible scheduling, i.e. evenings (until 23h00) and weekends are required.
  • Positive stats and attendance record
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kgs on a consistent basis throughout the shift
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • An ability to translate business objectives to clear actions and outcomes for your team
  • A commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
R6 700,00 - R7 000,00 per month


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Cape Town,

Western Cape:
Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
