Pearl Lemon Legal is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our legal team.The Research Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting our legal professionals by conducting comprehensive legal research, organizing information, and assisting in the preparation of legal documents.
This role offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in a legal environment and contribute to our client's success.Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough legal research using online databases, libraries, and other resources to gather relevant information for ongoing cases, projects, and client inquiries.
- Summarize and analyze legal documents, statutes, regulations, and case law to provide concise and accurate research findings to the legal team.
- Assist in the preparation of legal documents, including drafting memos, briefs, contracts, and correspondence.
- Collaborate with the legal team to organize and manage case files, documents, and other materials to ensure easy accessibility and retrieval.
- Stay uptodate with changes in laws, regulations, and industry trends that could impact our clients, and provide timely updates to the legal team.
- Maintain clear and detailed records of research findings, sources, and methodologies employed during the research process.
- Communicate effectively within the legal team to provide updates on research progress and findings.
- Assist in administrative tasks as needed to contribute to the smooth operation of the legal department.
Qualifications:
- Strong passion for legal research and a genuine interest in the legal industry.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to accurately analyze complex legal information.
- Proficiency in using online legal research databases and tools. Advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic knowledge of legal terminology, concepts, and processes.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Previous experience in legal research or related roles is a plus but not required.
Compensation:
This position is designed to be a part of a placement program and as a course with a stipend rather than a full-time salary.
At the end of the experience, there is an opportunity to go on a full-time salary, continue the program, or amicably leave.
