Our client in the fabrication industry is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to ensure that all finished goods conform to customer specifications and that all production and related activities comply with Quality Procedures.


Experience required:


  • At least 8 years Quality Assurance experience in a Manufacturing Environment at Management Level
  • Railway Industry will be an advantage but good understanding and experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 3834 is necessary.

Qualifications required:

Relevant Degree/Diploma or Equivalent


Computer Skills required:


  • MS Office / SAP
  • Good Practice on BBBEE / EE
  • Knowledge of applicable Labour Legislation and policies/procedures

Required Skills:


QUALITY

  • Implement and maintain Commercial procedures to comply with ISO requirements.
  • Implement continuous audits, report findings and ensure conformity by all the Departments.
  • Ensure all changes to Procedures determined by Audits and User requests are documented and communicated.
  • Report all non conformances or deviations in contravention of Audit and procedure requirements.
  • Ensure all monthly reporting of Quality Assurance activities are completed.
  • Co ordinate all Commercial Quality Assurance matters for the area of responsibility.
  • Develop a commercial procedure manual.
  • Maintain a filing system for the Quality Assurance Division.
  • Update the Managing Director on all matters relating to quality assurance.
  • May stop the process or product or service provision if quality of safety requirements are not met.

HUMAN CAPITAL

  • Ensure that the company's Recruitment policy and procedure is effectively implemented and adheres to all pertinent legislation.
  • This includes implementing correct requisitioning, advertising and selection procedures.
  • Ensure that the company's Disciplinary and Grievance procedures are administered fairly and consistently as per policy and procedure
  • Implement effective communication channels to ensure that all company communications are delivered in a clear and concise manner to all relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure that Employment Equity targets are monitored and facilitate the setting /achievement of goals as per EE plan.
  • Ensure active participation in, and contribution to, the company's Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment initiatives and that all targets are achieved.

STAFF MANAGEMENT

  • Supervise the activities of the team.
  • Participate in recruitment, selection and appointment of staff.
  • Issue work assignments and communicate performance standards.
  • Conduct performance appraisals to monitor performance.
  • Identify training and development needs of staff.
  • Motivate staff.
  • Structure succession planning.
  • Monitor and control adherence to disciplinary codes.
  • Maintaining high integrity of works instructions, policies and procedures.
  • Promote a positive industrial relations climate
  • Knowledge of the BCOE, LRA, OHSA and other
  • Good Practice on BBBEE / EE
