Description
Requirements:
- Grade 1
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, law, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification in compliance or a relevant certification (e.g., Certified Compliance Professional) is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of South African regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to retail operations
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and identify compliance risks and trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Experience:
- Proven experience in compliance monitoring or auditing, preferably within the retail or consumer goods industry.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Integrity and ethical conduct, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of compliance and corporate governance.
Duties
- Develop and implement a compliance monitoring plan to assess adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
- Conduct periodic reviews and audits of various business processes, transactions, and activities to identify potential compliance risks or deficiencies.
- Analyze data and documentation to evaluate the effectiveness of controls and procedures in place to mitigate compliance risks.
- Identify trends, patterns, or anomalies in compliancerelated data and report findings to management for corrective action.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including compliance officers, legal counsel, and operational teams, to address identified issues and implement remedial measures.
- Provide guidance and support to business units on compliancerelated matters, including training sessions and workshops.
- Stay informed about changes in legislation, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure that monitoring activities remain uptodate and relevant.
- Document monitoring activities, findings, and recommendations in clear and concise reports for management and regulatory purposes.
- Assist in responding to inquiries and requests from regulatory authorities regarding compliance monitoring activities.
- Participate in crossfunctional projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing compliance processes and promoting a culture of integrity and accountability within the organization.
