Requirements:


  • Grade 1
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, law, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification in compliance or a relevant certification (e.g., Certified Compliance Professional) is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of South African regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to retail operations
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and identify compliance risks and trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Experience:


  • Proven experience in compliance monitoring or auditing, preferably within the retail or consumer goods industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
  • Integrity and ethical conduct, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of compliance and corporate governance.

Duties

  • Develop and implement a compliance monitoring plan to assess adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and audits of various business processes, transactions, and activities to identify potential compliance risks or deficiencies.
  • Analyze data and documentation to evaluate the effectiveness of controls and procedures in place to mitigate compliance risks.
  • Identify trends, patterns, or anomalies in compliancerelated data and report findings to management for corrective action.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including compliance officers, legal counsel, and operational teams, to address identified issues and implement remedial measures.
  • Provide guidance and support to business units on compliancerelated matters, including training sessions and workshops.
  • Stay informed about changes in legislation, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure that monitoring activities remain uptodate and relevant.
  • Document monitoring activities, findings, and recommendations in clear and concise reports for management and regulatory purposes.
  • Assist in responding to inquiries and requests from regulatory authorities regarding compliance monitoring activities.
  • Participate in crossfunctional projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing compliance processes and promoting a culture of integrity and accountability within the organization.
