    We are seeking an Associate Director Business Development to join our Work, Rewards & Career practice.

    You will be responsible for identifying new revenue opportunities, driving new customer growth and developing a go-to-market strategy by partnering with senior leadership to realize and capitalize on opportunities for market expansion, increased profitability, and sustained success in a competitive business landscape.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Develop and Implement Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to achieve revenue targets and business growth objectives.
    2. New Business Opportunities: Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and other lead generation activities.
    3. Sales Presentations: Create and deliver compelling sales presentations to potential clients.
    4. Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
    5. Industry Trends: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
    6. Market Analysis: Analyze market data to identify potential areas for business expansion and product/service enhancement.
    7. Advisory Services: Advise and consult with companies on their broader HR challenges.
    8. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of client solutions.

    In addition, you will be a key contributor to projects that help client organizations enable business strategies and improve how they attract, retain and engage talent.

    Planning and Strategy

    Keep abreast of industry trends and market needs in South Africa and African markets.

    Assess the full range of WTW products and service offerings in meeting these market needs to inform future business strategy.

    Business Development and Customer Service

    1. Origination and Qualification: Develop strategies driving the origination, qualification and conversion of new opportunities across a portfolio of products/solutions.
    2. Sales Implementation Plan: Develop a 3-to-5-year Sales implementation plan to drive and increase revenue for the business.
    3. New Business Opportunities: Develop and grow new business opportunities in South Africa and other African markets.
    4. Tier 1 Clients: Develop and drive growth plans for Tier 1 clients as well as a key account program covering strategic initiatives among selected industries.
    5. Sales Lifecycle: Own the sales lifecycle from prospecting to closing new business opportunities.
    6. Global Marketing Initiatives: Capitalize on global marketing initiatives and manage local digital marketing initiatives as well as PR.
    7. Pitches and Presentations: Prepare and deliver pitches and presentations to potential new clients, State and Private Sector.
    8. Negotiation and Representation: Represent the company at networking events and conferences.
    9. Client Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with current and new customers, locally and internationally.
    10. Rapport Building: Develop rapport with key decision makers.
    11. Relationship Growth: Build on existing relationships to develop and grow new business opportunities for the company.
    12. Campaign Management: Run outbound campaigns (phone calls, emails, etc.) to create sales and new business opportunities.
    13. Meeting Management: Manage virtual and in-person business development meetings.
    14. Client Satisfaction: Ensure excellent customer service through regular client follow-up.
    15. Communication: Communicate with clients to understand their needs and offer solutions to their problems.
    16. Risk Management: Work with senior team members to identify and manage company risks that might prevent growth.

    Financial Management and Contracting

    1. Forecasting: Forecast business projections & trends, formulating result-oriented plans.

    3. Proposal Development: Develop and present proposals customized for each client's specific business needs.
    4. Contract Negotiation: Translate proposals into ready-to-sign contracts.

    Advisory work

    To be effective in this role, you will need strong business acumen along with confidence to interact with more senior colleagues and key client contacts.

    Comfort navigating ambiguity and uncertainty, organized thinking and communication skills, and a willingness to engage in both deep analysis, strategic design and tactical implementation of solutions are also critical to success in this position.
