    Description of the role

    This is a key role to support the UK Marketing team to ensure all programmes of work for the department are measured, analysed and optimised upon to maximise reach, impact and commercial return. This includes providing analysis and insight recommendations to support segment, channel and campaign strategy and execution.

    Leading a team of two, the role requires a core skill set across both strategy and execution, creating the platforms, capabilities and processes which deliver meaningful insight into strategic planning, campaign execution and measurement along with the delivery of actionable reporting and recommendations to improve marketing effectiveness.

    As such the role works collaboratively and closely with colleagues across the Investec UK marketing team, the creative and production hub in SA Marketing Insights and Technology Team, as well as system and technology owners, reporting and data science teams and external suppliers and key agencies.

    Responsibilities

    Data & Analysis:

  • Collaborate with the technology teams to define and implement Marketing data strategy to support commercial growth for Investec Bank Plc
  • Simple analysis beyond reporting – profiling and descriptive analysis of clients, prospects and product/transactional behaviour
  • Complex analysis and forecasting based on large client and transactional datasets – segmentation, predictive modelling, campaign ROI (incorporating product and client profitability and LTV) and scenario planning tools
  • Lead data extraction, manipulation & analysis of large datasets to deliver insights and recommendations back to stakeholders
  • Support the UK Marketing team with campaign audience targeting execution, optimisation and performance reporting
  • Extraction and delivery of data, acting as steward for Marketing data ensuring that data is fit-for-purpose, compliant and available to support campaign and channel execution
  • Collaborate with wider Investec global data community to ensure data quality, integrity and availability, identifying and resolving data issues and gaps
  • Responsible for leading analysis, development and maintenance of data models and dashboards
  • Marketing Effectiveness:

  • Lead the delivery of ongoing marketing department effectiveness and post-campaign reporting to enable constant optimisation of marketing activity, spend and ROI
  • Ownership of the campaign measurement framework and process in close collaboration with the campaign management team
  • Provide recommendations and guidance to marketing teams on how to leverage data and analytics to improve campaign performance, customer experience, engagement and loyalty
  • Create and maintain dashboards, reports and visualisations that communicate key marketing performance indicators and trends to varied stakeholders
  • Delivery of industry key trends, benchmarks and competitor insights to help inform marketing strategy
  • UK Team Integration and Market Knowledge

  • Work closely with the Creative and Production manager to ensure you maintain a strong connection with the UK marketing team
  • Keep abreast of the northern hemisphere economic trends and market movements, building up knowledge in the team and using this to provide context to analysis provided to stakeholders.
  • Line manage one data analyst, and ensure as a team of two you are integrated into the UK Marketing Operations team.
  • Description of the skill and experience required

  • Coaching & Assessment (compulsory for Managers and Supervisors)
  • Excellent knowledge of data sources, management and use to support marketing, channel and campaign management
  • Extensive practical experience in data manipulation and complex analytical techniques – profiling, modelling, segmentation
  • Practical experience of working with data at multiple granularities, from simple structures to large complex transactional data and unstructured data
  • Strong experience of data analytics and BI tools including visualisation (PowerBI or similar), Web analytics (Adobe Analytics and Decibel an advantage), CRM and CDP platforms (D365 a plus) - Comfortable working with APIs and integrating data from various sources
  • Advanced data engineering programming using SQL, Python and/or R
  • Good understanding of Financial Services business models, customer LTV and profitability modelling
  • Experience in marketing mix/econometric modelling
  • Evidence of working with multiple internal and external stakeholders/suppliers to deliver programmes
  • Strong skill set in condensing complex information and trends into actionable insights and strategies and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Good understanding of Financial Services Marketing environment
  • Good understanding on the regulatory and Data Protection environment as it relates to marketing
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the marketing teams and also with technology, platform and project owners
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder influencing skill set including the ability to condense complex information into recommended actions
  • Excellent eye for detail, able to spot anomalies, patterns and trends and quickly interpret and explain the 'so what'
  • Self-starter, comfortable with owning and driving programmes of activity
  • Logical approach, able to develop workable solutions to complex business challenges
  • Comfortable and able to cope with a role that demands both a 'hands on' delivery and 'heads up' strategic mindset
  • Data Engineering, BI or related Qualification.
