Key Performance Area:


  • Responsible to develop, implement, test, maintain and provide technical support of SQL database systems and related vendor products according to user / business requirements.
  • Review applicable IT company procedures/policies and processes and make changes or developments to the database were applicable.
  • Integrating systems, to customize databases to meet business needs.
  • Implementation and testing of upgrades and improvements to existing databases and systems.
  • Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information of databases and related files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure, to add and remove users, and provide user audit trails.
  • Participate in / run project teams to implement and develop new database and systems.
  • Liaise with service providers, in conjunction with the Group IT Manager, were the support required exceeds the available resources.
  • Work as part of a project team to coordinate new database developments and systems.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Grade 12 or an equivalent academic qualification
  • MCSD certification
  • Knowledge of SQL queries, relational databases and data base architecture is also required.
  • This position will involve a fair amount of travelling between Business Units within the company.
