Job Description

We are seeking a skilled developer to join our development team that develops customizations in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central ERP systems used in the VKB Group.

Responsibilities

1. Write code in allocated programs as specified by direct manager
2. Test allocated programs as specified by direct manager
3. Design allocated programs as specified by direct manager
4. Document program specifications as specified by direct manager
5. Adhere to the defined Software Development Lifecycle
6. Attend and accurately report on projects and tickets at weekly team meetings
7. Ensure the IT department remains the preferred IT service provider of business
8. Identify, report, and handle risks in the IT department
9. Comply with all VKB policies and adhere to all IT principles
10. Deliver high-quality code (reduce ticket comebacks)
11. Attend and participate in daily scrum meetings

Deliverables

1. Identify and solve ad hoc program problems and inquiries continuously
2. Maintain long-term relationships with department and clients in the VKB Group
3. Log progress feedback on ticket system continuously
4. Follow up with business after sign-off of tickets to measure quality
5. Identify possible improvements to systems and processes not identified by business

Skills Required

1. Develop good professional and friendly relationships with clients and internal staff and represent the organization positively
2. Show industry-based analytical skills based on best practice scenarios proven on a case-by-case instance
3. Pay attention to detail; deliver code of high quality
4. Solve problems by thinking out of the box to provide solutions to complicated problems

Qualifications and Experience (Preferred)

1. Previous development experience in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 and/or Business Central
2. Experience using ERP systems, especially Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 or Business Central
3. Working knowledge of SQL and SQL Server including stored procedures
4. Source code control experience based on GIT
5. C# Development experience advantageous

Qualifications Mandatory

1. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (or similar)

Other Requirements

1. Must be willing to relocate to the Eastern Free-State and work at VKB Head Office in Reitz
