    SERVICE TECHNICIAN Trade certificate

    Bellville

    Reporting to the Area Service Manager the primary purpose of this position will be the hands-on servicing installation and commissioning of boilers, i.e. Heavy and Light Fuel Oil, Gas, Coal and Electrically powered boilers. Willing to travel regularly (local and abroad) and willing to work long hours.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Trade Certificate (Millwright/Electrical or Instrumentation/Electronics)

    An unendorsed drivers licence

    Diploma in Electronics/Electrical Engineering will be advantageous

    Project Management certificate will be advantageous

    Certified gas practitioners license will be advantageous

    Wiremans license will be advantageous

    EXPERIENCE

    A minimum of five years Electrical or Mechanical experience in an after-sales-service environment also covering the following fields: Mechanical Fitting, Electronics, PLC Controls, Maintenance, Fault Finding and Instrumentation

    Drawing up and understanding wiring diagrams for PLCs

    Panel building, design and layout of electrical panels

    Boiler servicing and commissioning will be advantageous

    Computer literacy-MS Office, emails and internet

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Stand-by duties covering mechanical and electrical services

    Installation and commissioning of new and second-hand boilers, burners and auxiliary equipment

    Supervise and manage all site work with your team being hands on in the field and office

    Communication with the client and you senior suggesting repairs and possible site improvements

    Make sure data packs are updated and loaded onto the system

    Make sure all site work is done safely and as per company procedure (make sure all paperwork is in order before work commences)

    Do courtesy calls to clients and find new work

    Do and assist with quotes on new enquiries

    Follow up on orders and have site orders signed off for invoicing purpose.

    ➢ Must be able to work away from home for a minimum of 1 week at a time when necessary.

    ➢ Interviews will take place in Cape Town no online interviews permitted.
