    Description

    Job Summary

    This role requires a skilled millwright with experience in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical processing equipment. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee and manage maintenance tasks on electrical and mechanical processing equipment, visiting clients to troubleshoot and repair equipment, and providing training on its use.
    • Maintain, troubleshoot, overhaul, and repair stationary and industrial food processing machinery and mechanical equipment, performing preventative maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
    • Read diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
    • Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as food processing equipment, according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
    • Inspect and examine machinery and food processing equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
    • Visit clients and troubleshoot equipment installed on their premises.
    • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
    • Maximise plant efficiency through continuous improvement.
    • Manage stock of spares and equipment needed to maintain all equipment efficiently.

    Requirements

    • Possession of a Millwright Trade Test Qualification is preferred.
    • Previous experience working in a millwright and service role, both on the plant and calling on customers, is preferred.
    • Previous mechanical or electrical fault-finding skills and experience are preferred.
    • Experience in repairing and lubricating machinery and equipment is preferred.
    • Exposure to PLC fault-finding is preferred.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team are essential.
    • Must be attentive to detail and able to work under pressure.
    • Must be able to trial equipment with clients and explain benefits to their processing abilities.
