Position Summary

The capacity specialist is an associate forming part of both the planning and execution teams responsible for transportation planning and operations.

Within the team, the capacity specialist will perform execution-level service-provider relationship management, ad-hoc provider selection, loss recovery, and other transportation cost/service-based optimization activities for Nestle as they pertain to the selection and management of provider capacity.

A day in the life of a Load and Capacity Specialist:

Execute Supply and Delivery strategies based on cost and service while ensuring carriers are assigned to move all planned loads on time.
Identify and escalate gaps in carrier coverage with respect to factors like service, cost, and performance
Forecast Vehicle Supply and ensuring that deviations are addressed promptly
Ensure regular reporting of Vehicle Supply, deviations, opportunities, and gap closure actions to all relevant stakeholders.
Ensure the achievement of operational KPIs in the Transport department.
Undertake role of being operational point of contact for all carrier queries
Back up on any additional tasks assigned.

What will make you successful:

Matric and relevant degree/diploma
Minimum of 5 years' experience in at least Customer Service, Distribution, Demand and Supply Chain within FMCG or Manufacturing
Experience in Transportation Management, Distribution/ Materials Handling
Proactive Cooperation and Stakeholder Management
Understanding of the Business Environment (Internally and Externally)
Excellence communication and Team playing skills essential as well as Results Focus and Compliance mindset.
Demonstrated resilience to change
Project management experience for the implementation of major project/s or change programme/s
