    Description

    The effective management of Clicks Group Employee Benefit Programmes encompasses medical aid and retirement fund administration.

    Job Objectives:

    • To oversee employee benefit programs relating to Retirement Funds & Medical Aids, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
    • To critically review and optimise the cost efficiency of benefits, fostering a culture of responsible spending.
    • To assume accountability for Governance and Legal Compliance of the different funds, guaranteeing adherence to regulatory requirements.
    • To manage queries and provide clear information related to employee benefits funds and insurance, enhancing transparency and trust.
    • To assess and enhance the company's medical aid policy, negotiate Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with medical aids, and explore opportunities to benefit Clicks and its employees regarding medical benefits.
    • To ensure efficient administration of Medical aid membership, option selection, contributions, increases, and communication, streamlining processes for improved member experience.
    • To effectively manage and develop the Benefits team, leveraging individual strengths and expertise to drive success.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • A relevant tertiary qualification is essential.
    • Experience as a Trustee or Principle Officer on a board of trustees is beneficial.
    • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar position is required.
    • Experience in a retail organisation is advantageous, offering valuable insights into consumer needs and market trends.

    Skills, Abilities and Job Related Knowledge:

    • Extensive knowledge of Pension Fund Act/rules, Medical Aid Rules, PF 130, and PF circulars.
    • Ability to draft policy documents that are clear, concise, and compliant with regulations.
    • Capacity to work independently in a fast-paced environment, at all levels, making sound decisions under pressure.
    • Understanding of Legislation and administrative requirements relating to the distribution of Death and Disability claims, ensuring prompt and fair settlements.
    • Knowledge/understanding of the Pension & Medical Aid industry, staying up-to-date with legislative changes and their impact on Funds and business.
    • Strategic thinking – ability to evaluate the impact of changing circumstances on benefits, making informed decisions that benefit the organisation and its members.
    • Ability to build value-based relationships with service providers to optimise cost efficiency, driving mutually beneficial outcomes.
    • Capacity to design member communication that is understandable, informative, and empowering, enabling members to make informed choices about their benefits.
    • Comprehensive understanding of benefits in large complex organisations, including the intricacies of plan design and implementation.
    • Numerical and financial acumen, including the ability to interpret financial statements, inform decision-making, and drive business growth.
    • Excellent Excel skills, with the ability to work with extensive spreadsheets, analysing data, identifying trends, and informing strategic decisions.
    • Strong analytical, writing, reporting, learning, researching, and adhering to principles and values skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, delivering results and meeting customer expectations.
